We also went to Utah for a week. It was good to see my family and show Matt SLC for the first time.

NYC Marathon 2008

I had the opportunity to work in the NYC marathon this year. The NYC marathon is the biggest in the world and this year there were more participants than any other year. 40,000 runners!!!!! They had me delivering supplies to medical tents and managing my own tent at mile 20.

The first group to come through were the para-athletes. The energy was so incredible when the crowd saw them!!

I don't think I'll ever be able to say I ran 20 miles in 1:53:31...

After the 'elite' runners passed there was a seemingly never ending stream of people. A lot of them were running for friends and family they had lost to cancer or AIDS. As you can see, some of them had costumes.

More pictures from Greenport Long Island

Greenport, Long Island

We went on a vineyard and apple picking tour yesterday in Long Island. It was great to get out of the city. Eventually we ended up in Greenport (North Fork of Long Island). Greenport is an old whaling village (now a tourist spot). It was a really cool town.
